Yorba Linda High Schoolhouse (YLHS) is a public high school located in Yorba Linda, California and is part of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School Commune.

The school's colors are navy blue, crimson, and silver. The school mascot is the Mustang. Most students who attend this schoolhouse live in Yorba Linda. A small portion of Anaheim Hills with houses located north of Yorba Regional Park are also directed to this school. Earlier the school opened in 2009, students who lived in Yorba Linda attended Canyon High Schoolhouse (Orange Unified School Commune), El Dorado High School, and Esperanza Loftier School (The latter two are function of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District).
The school site occupies over 70 acres (280,000 grand2) and has over 170,000 square feet (16,000 k2) of classroom and authoritative space, including a library, gymnasium, performing arts spaces, a pool, an adjacent joint-use park, baseball game fields, and a large stadium facility.[ii] [ failed verification ]

Construction of the schoolhouse began in Apr 2007.[iii] The kickoff students to receive diplomas from the school were the graduating course of 2012.[4]

For the 2018-2019 school twelvemonth, the ethnic distribution is equally follows: 58% White, 21% Asian, 16% Hispanic, 1% Blackness, 0.2% Hawaiian Native/Pacific Islander.[5]
In 2019, the Mustang Business concern Academy officially opened the first YLHS schoolhouse-broad store chosen Mustang Marketplace. With a grant and authorization from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, the goal is to teach students in the Business Management program fiscal responsibility and concern leadership.[6]

To graduate from YLHS, a student is required to complete iv years of language arts, ii years of Math, 3 years of Social Studies, 2 years of Science, i year of a Strange Language or Fine Arts, 1 year of Wellness/Academic Planning, 2 years of Physical Education, also as 80 credits worth of electives, xl hours of community service, and complete the California Loftier Schoolhouse Exit Exam.[7]
As of the 2015/2016 schoolhouse twelvemonth, 16 Honors Courses and 23 Advanced Placement (AP) Courses were offered.[8]
The schoolhouse was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2013, a 2015 Golden Ribbon/Exemplary Arts High School, and in Baronial 2017 recognized by U.S. News & Globe Written report as one of the top loftier schools in the nation.
In 2019, Yorba Linda High Schoolhouse was recognized every bit a U.S. News & Globe Report "Best High Schools" award winner. YLHS ranked #1,200 nationwide (top 5%), #184 in California (top 7%), and equally the #1 high school in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Yorba Linda High Schoolhouse also had 12 National Merit Scholars, 4 of which went on to become National Merit Semi-finalists.[9]
Yorba Linda High Schoolhouse has two unique career pathways inside the Mustang Business Academy: Culinary/Hospitality and Business Management. Inside the PYLUSD school commune, Yorba Linda High School is the just school to integrate these courses into its curriculum.[ten]
Athletics Edit
Yorba Linda High School won its first California Interscholastic Federation/Southern Department Partitioning 8 football championship, defeating Burbank High School past the score of 31-21, on December ii, 2016.[xi] Too in 2013, won CIF in wrestling.[12]
As of the 2019-2020 school year, YLHS fields teams for the following sports: aquatics, cantankerous country, cheer and vocal, trip the light fantastic, baseball, football, men'due south and women'due south basketball game, men'due south and women's golf, men'southward and women'due south lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women'southward tennis, men's and women's volleyball, softball, track and field, and wrestling.[13]
The men's aquatics program besides claimed its offset 2d place finish in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF)/Southern Department swimming championships on May 10, 2019.[14]
